That’s Not the Way it Happened! Oliver Frljić Hates the Truth, produced by Theatre &TD, premiered in May 2011 in SEK, a small, claustrophobic space at Zagreb Student Centre. It is a project that deals with the issue of theatrical self-representation of Oliver Frljić’s childhood in the form of a bourgeois tragedy, where he is both the author of the text and the director.
Criticize This! project, dedicated to afirmation of the significance of contemporary art and importance of its critical observation in the process od development a democratic and open society, presents through the portals of the organizers and in a form of a supplement in newspapers Novosti, Danas and Pobjeda, the first art reviews by young critics produced under the supervision of well experianced and renowed art critics from the region.
Six selected art reviews in the fields of literature and performing and visual arts, will be published as the first edition of supplement in weekly Novosti in Croatia and daily newspapers Danas in Serbia and Pobjeda in Montenegro.
Other 16 art reviews will be published on portals of the organizers of the Criticize This! project – Booksa.hr, Elektrobeton.net, Kulturpunkt.hr, Plima.org i SEEcult.org), as well as on this web site.
Selected art reviews will be published in portal Eurozine.com, too.
The first Art Module of the project Criticize this! started with a series of lectures and seminars which took place from September 29 to October 2 in Belgrade.
Public lectures given by Svetlana Slapšak, Nenad Veličković and Peter Klepec, who also participated in the final public discussion on the topic of „What kind of criticism do we need?“ moderated by Saša Ilić.
The first Art Module of the project Criticize this! will begin with a series of lectures and seminars which will take place from September 29 to October 2, 2011 in the Cultural Centre Dom omladine Belgrade. Public lectures will be given by Svetlana Slapšak, Nenad Veličković and Peter Klepec, who will also participate in the final public discussion.
Svetlana Slapšak will give a lecture titled „What do truth and responsibility do in literature?“ (On the situation of literary criticism, inscribed in responsibility and relation to the past) on September 29 at 6 pm.
Peter Klepec will give a lecture titled „It’s time for alternative“ (Crisis of politics and the position of culture) on September 30 at 6 pm.
Nenad Veličković will give a lecture titled „Reading – the thin end of the wedge“ (Abuse of literature in school) on October 1 at 6 pm.
On October 1 at 8 pm the mentioned lecturers will participate in a public discussion on the topic of „What kind of criticism do we need?“ moderated by Saša Ilić.
The public lectures and the discussion will take place in the Panel Hall of the Cultural Centre Dom omladine Belgrade (1st floor).

Gostujuća izvedba šibenskog HNK, Pir malograđana, prema tekstu mladog Bertolda Brechta (napisan 1919.) izvedena je po sljedećoj formuli: na Danima satire u satiričkom kazalištu Kerempuh gledamo satiričan komad. Prema reakcijama publike, bila je uspješna, ali teško se oteti dojmu da je smijeh bio formulaično zagarantiran, jer bi takav instruirani moment humora trebao zauzdati spontani smijeh. Je li se možda radilo o “malograđanskom” humoru?

Glumice i to, nova predstava u zagrebačkom KNAP-u, neobičan su kazališni ‘slučaj’. Naime, predstavu su, dramaturški i režijski osmislile te, naravno, glumački ostvarile četiri mlade glumice. U trenutačnoj opće-društvenoj, pa tako i kazališnoj situaciji, kojom prijete olovni pojmovi poput recesije, prekarijata i outsourcinga (nedavno su najavljena i otpuštanja “hladnopogonskih” glumaca), one su, kako piše u najavi “nezaposlene i pune entuzijazma, odlučile su preuzeti stvar u svoje ruke i napraviti hit!”. Očito sklone postdramskom pristupu izvedbi koji se, između ostalog, bazira na ekipnoj work-in-progress metodi, izvedbenoj anti-iluziji i autoreferencijalnosti, glumice/autorice su se “trgnule” i napravile parodiju o tome kako rade predstavu, po ironičnom ključu: kad ne ide pravljenje predstave treba napraviti predstavu o tome kako se ne može raditi predstava.
