The Case of the &TD, directed by: Natalija Manojlović, produced by: The &TD Theatre
By: Ivana Anić
˝What are you doing? How long does it last? You are not doing anything. You are empty, you are boring. Your axis bores me’’, says Ana Karić to a dancer Ivana Pavlović, while she performs her ‘’axis study’’ at the very beginning of the play ‘’The Case of the &TD.’’ The new piece by dancer, choreographer and director Natalija Manojlović, was staged at the theatre in point – The &TD Theatre. The words at the beginning speak to the contemporary dance, to the avantgarde theatre, to the &TD Theatre and to the independent scene and to the culture in general, since none of the other characters are not spared of criticism or auto-irony. Hence, Ana Karić, as the Narcissistic Diva that spends most of her past time signing her own photographs and living on her old glory, is just another ‘’case’’ in a cultural-health institution – the &TD Theatre. ‘’And-the-what-know Theatre’’, as it says in the introduction of the play, The mental institution, to be politically incorrect. more >
Željko Kipke: Third retrofuturist exhibition: Hello from Zagreb, Ulrich Gallery, December 12 – December 31, 2011
By: Tihana Bertek
The term “retrofuturism” was first used by the editor of the eponymous magazine and multimedia artist Lloyd Dunn in 1983, referring to a direction in art that presents the future from the perspective of the past. It spread through different fan cycles, especially SF, exploring the tension between the future and the past, based on imaginary technologies and parallel realities, shrouded with a feeling of nostalgia and dys/(u)topia. Well known painter and writer Željko Kipke shows six large oils on canvas in the Ulrich Gallery, entitled Hello from Zagreb, (December 12-31, 2011). more >
Edo Popović: Breaking The Wind (OceanMore, Zagreb, 2011)
By: Leda Sutlović
Some of the recently published books, which can be categorised as socially active prose, aim to remind us of the unenviable social situation, alongside all the devastating statistics, spiritual, moral and other crises. One of these novels is Edo Popović’s Breaking The Wind. Almost a dystopian but definitely a futuristic transition story that speaks critically of the present-day life and shows its extreme in the future. The novel’s title stands as a metaphor to the greed of the capitalist society which, after another successful acquisition, announces the breaking of the wind. more >
Exhibition: Art is Beautiful, Art Pavilion, Zagreb, November 10 – December 31, 2011
By: Tihana Bertek
Art is Beautiful is a multi-layered project, both conceptually and practically, designed for the Art Pavilion in Zagreb and managed by the sculptor, designer and exhibition author Ante Rašić. This multimedia exhibition with a provocatively banal title happens on several levels and in several stages. Although the entire concept is based on sculptural installation/space intervention, Rašić also uses elements of performance, audio and urban installation, all supported by elaborate web and Facebook pages.

Glumice i to, KNAP, Zagreb, premijera 12.5.2012.
